Sulphur Springs.....William Edward McCarty, 73, resident of Sulphur Springs, passed away at his daughter's home in Sulphur Springs on November 27, 2018.
He was born in Paris, KY, September 22, 1945, the son of William McCarty and Viola Crump Leach. He was a graduate of Indianapolis Arsenal Technical High School (1963) and was owner of McCarty Home maintenance for many years.
He was a long time member of the Jefferson Township Fire Department. He loved to fish with his family and was instrumental in the building of the New fire department and community buildings in Sulphur Springs.
Survivors are his wife: Bonnie of Sulphur Springs, children: Beverly (Joe) Hilburt and Beth Ann (Floyd) Pinkston of Sulphur Springs, and Trina Randall (Dave) of Queens Creek, AZ, 6 grandchildren: Tangie Randall, Kayla Hilburt, Patrick Hilburt (Tiffany), Hayley Benoit (Trey), Shelby Randall and Trey Pinkston, 2 great grandchildren: Gabby Battle and Bonnie Randall, special niece: Stormy (Andy) Lumpkin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters: Glenda Browning and Nancy Wells.
Services will be Saturday December 1, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens in New Castle.
Friends may call from 11-2 at the funeral on Saturday.
Memorials may be made to the Jefferson Township Fire Department.
