William Van Carter

Daleville...William Van Carter, 61, resident of Daleville, passed away Sunday evening at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie after an extended illness.He was born in Muncie, November 4, 1946, the son of Van and Golda Lipscomb Carter.He attended Yorktown High School and retired in 2003 from Borg Warner in Muncie.He was a member of UAW 287 and loved gardening and the outdoors. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.Survivors include his wife of 25 years: Janice (Linder) Carter of Daleville, 1 son: Joe Woody (Jessica Carr) of Daleville and 1 daughter: Connie (Smith (Mike Felts) of Daleville, 2 grandchildren: Derek Lee Smith and Carter Joe Smith of Daleville.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut St. Daleville.Burial will follow in Tomlinson Cemetery near Daleville.Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from noon until the time of the service.Memorial may be made to the Arthritis Foundation through the funeral home.Online Guestbook at: www.ballardandsons.com
