Middletown...Wayne Franklin Ritchie, 82, resident of Middletown, passed away Thursday September 1, 2005 at his residence after a brief illness.He was born in Middletown, October 14, 1922, the son of Joseph Weeks and Irene Viola Harter Ritchie.He was a 1940 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School. He retired from Chevrolet in Muncie in 1981.He was a member of the Chesterfield Christian Church, the New Burlington Masonic Lodge for 51 years, the Farm Bureau, UAW # 499, and the Avondale Sympathy Club.Survivors include his wife of 45 years: Barbara Ann (Mills) of Middletown, 4 children: Ronald Wayne (Marilyn) Ritchie of Anderson, Steven (Phyllis) Keesling of Middletown, Jack (Cherie) Keesling of Middlebury, and Sue (Gary) Brown of Muncie, 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, 1 sister: Janet (Bill) Chapman of Middletown, Sister-in-law: Judith Ritchie of Sulphur Springs, 2 Aunts: Bulah Garrett of Sulphur Springs and Carol Harter of Moreland.He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Joseph Ritchie, Jr.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am at the Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut Street in DALEVILLE, with Rev. Mike Webber officiating.Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery in Middletown.Friends may call at the Daleville Chapel on Monday from 3-8 PM and one hour before the services on Tuesday.Memorials may be made to the Chesterfield Christian Church Scholarship Fund, Middletown/ Fall Creek Food Pantry or the Middletown/ Fall Creek EMS.Online Guestbook is available at:
