Daleville...Warren Howell, 93, resident of Delaware County, passed away Wednesday at Elmcoft Center in Muncie.He was born December 13, 1920 at the family home near Cowan, Indiana, the only child of Ancile E. and Clorsia Burgess Howell.He was a 1939 graduate of Cowan High School and the Purdue University Short Course. He served in WW 2 in the US Army in the Philippines and married Marjorie Wright, the daughter of Claude E. and Mary Patterson Wright of Cowan, Indiana on March 15, 1946. They had celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary this year.Warren was a full time farmer and raised quality cattle and hogs on the family farm near Daleville. The family produced grain and bred Angus cattle which he cared for until 2011. He was involved in many farm organizations, including: Indiana Angus Association, 50 year member of the American Angus Association, and Farm Bureau. He was past president of the Delaware County Farm Bureau and was a member of the Salem Township School Board during the elementary construction.Warren served as Elder Emeritus with the Daleville Christian Church and was a member of the Delaware County Farm Bureau Co-Op Board which became AgBest Cooperative.He was a 50 year member of the Whitney Masonic Lodge and Daleville Order of the Eastern Star.Marjorie and Warren took great pride in the many young people that worked alongside them on the farm and the success they achieved from that experience. Both were great supporters of their family and were quietly fulfilled by their accomplishments.Survivors include his wife: Marjorie of Daleville, sons: David (Mary) Howell of Middletown and Philip (Judy) Howell of Winchester, and 1 daughter: Anne Sullivan (Don) of Daleville, 9 grandchildren: Adam (Keri) Howell, Aaron (Katy) Howell and Amanda Howell of Middletown, Audrey (Mike) Behrendt of Daleville, Emily (David) Reynolds of Owensboro, KY, Andy Howell of Marengo, IN, Brian (Jill) Howell of Tipton, IN, Sarah (Michael) Sullivan Ainsa of Marana, AZ, and Katherine (David) Sullivan Guenthenspberger of Daleville and 16 great grandchildren.A celebration of his life will be held on Monday at 10:30 at Ballard & Sons, 8212 South Walnut, Daleville with Rev. Jim Sandberg and Rev. Gary McManus officiating.Burial will follow in Tomlinson Cemetery.Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 3-7 with Masonic rites at 6:30.The family wishes to thank the staff of Morrison Woods, Elmcroft Assisted Living, and the nurses at State of Heart HospiceCare.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lewy Body Dementia Association (
