Daleville...Walter Lee Garrett, 89, resident of Daleville, died Wednesday morning at Community Hospital in Anderson.He was born in Burkesville, Ky, October 11, 1914, the son of Ellis E. and Pearlie Garmon Garrett.He retired from Guide Lamp in Anderson in 1976 after 34 years of service.He was a member of the Daleville Lions Club and attended the Daleville United Methodist Church. His greatest joy was found in spending time with his family and friends.Survivors include his wife of 63 years: Louise Garrett of Daleville, 2 daughters: Gerri Garrett of Ft. Wayne and Carol (Mike) Murphy of Daleville, 1 sister: Alyne Melton of Daleville, 2 granddaughters: Jill (John) Vaught of West Lafayette and Kim (Jay) House of Daleville, 4 great grandchildren: Jason and Jordan Vaught and Chelsey and Mackenzie House of Daleville.He was loved and will be missed by several relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers.Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 am at Ballard and Sons funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut Street, Daleville, with Pastor Karen Ottjes and Pastor Paul Pletcher officiating.Burial will follow in Saunders Cemetery in Daleville.Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 PM.Memorial contributions may be made to the Daleville Lions Club or the Salem Township EMS.Online Guestbook is available at:
