Yorktown...Walter Beaty, 86, resident of Yorktown, died late Saturday evening at his resident after an extended illness.He was born in Clinton County, Kentucky, June 6, 1918, the son of Elmer and Osha Stockton Beaty.He retired from Warner Gear in Muncie after 30 years of service in 1982. He had lived for over 50 years in the Daleville/Yorktown area.He was a member of the UAW of Warner Gear, the Daleville Christian Church, and the Sympathy Club of Warner Gear.He was a US Army Veteran of WW 2 serving in the Pacific Theatre receiving 2 bronze stars and the WW 2 Victory Medal as well as the Good Conduct medal.He was preceded in death by 1 son: Gary Beaty in March of 2004, his parents, and 1 brother:Clyde Beaty.Survivors include his wife of 63 years: Maxine of Yorktown, 1 son: Bill (Sandy) Beaty of Chesterfield, VA, daughters: Virginia (Bill) Rievley of Daleville and Barbara Beaty of Chesterfield. Also Grandchildren: Shelley (Todd) Anderson, of Mechanicsville, VA, Robin (Dallas) Gabriel of Daleville, Shawna Purvis of LaFontaine, In, Billy (Maryanne) Beaty of Midlothian VA, and Brian (Amy) Rievley of Alexandria, 10 great grandchildren, 1 brother: Willie (Sue) Beaty of Muncie, several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut Street, Daleville, with Rev.
