Virginia D. Reedy

Middletown...Virginia D. Reedy, 81, resident of Middletown, passed away Sunday morning at her home after a brief illness.She was born August 1, 1924 in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of Dennis and Blanche Smith Drury.She was a 1942 graduate of Middletown High School, a 1947 graduate of Emmanuel Missionary College and a 1961 graduate of Ball State Teachers College.She was a member of the Athena Circle and the Psi Iota Xi sorority.She taught at Broadview Academy in Illinois, Middletown High School, Shenandoah High School and New Castle High School.She married Clarence L. Reedy in 1946. Mr Reedy passed away in 1986.She is survived by two sons: Clarence L. Reedy, Jr. (Marlene) of Williamsburg, IN and Steven D. Reedy (DeeAnn) of New Plymouth, Idaho, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, 1 sister, 1 brother, and many nieces and nephews and thousands of students.Funeral services will be held at the Anderson Seventh Day Adventist Church, 8th and Locust in Anderson, on Thursday at 10:00 am, with Pastor Clinton Meharry and Pastor Maynard Powell officiating.Burial will follow in Miller cemetery in Middletown.Friends may call at the Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown, on Wednesday from 3-8 PM with memorial services conducted by the Psi Iota Psi sorority at 8:00 PMOnline Guestbook is available at: www.ballardandsons.com
