Middletown...Virginia T. Hunter, 93, resident of Middletown passed away Saturday at Rawlins House Nursing home in Pendleton. She was born in Frankton, Indiana, October 26, 1924, the daughter of Linville and Sara Gooding Trissel. She was a graduate of Frankton High School and retired from General Motors (Guide Lamp) in Anderson after 31 years of service.
She was a member of the order of the Eastern Star and the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters: Waneta Wigner and Annamae Couch, her husband Robert, and a son-in-law: Daniel L, Swart.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Janice Swart of Atlanta, Indiana and Peggy Stefandel (Jerry) of Middletown, 5 grandchildren: Brian, Brad, and Brandon Swart, Derik Stefandel and Ginny Waggener, 10 great grandchildren, sisters: Joan Baughn of Rushville and Rosemary Clark of Leesburg, FL, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with C.J. Buskirk officiating. Memorial services will also be given by the Order of the Eastern Star, Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens in New Castle.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from noon until the time of the services.
