Middletown...Vernell Kenneth ""Boss"" Walters, 73, resident of Middletown, passed away at his residence August 12, 2008 after an extended illness.He was born in Monticello, KY, March 30, 1935, the son of John Anderson and Anna Lee Dishman Walters.He retired in 1990 from Delco Remy in Anderson after 30 years of service.He was a member of the UAW 662 and loved to fly model airplanes, boat and fish, travel and ride a motorcycle.He attended the Orestes Baptist Church.Survivors are his wife of 55 years: Delores ""Tootsie"" June Dalton Walters of Middletown, 2 sons: Ron and Jeff Walters of Middletown, 3 grandchildren: Kerry Smith of New Castle, Heather Walters of Poplar Bluff, MO and Jonah Walters of Middletown, 4 great grandchildren: Miranda Alspaugh of New Castle, Caleb Alspaugh of New Castle, Whitney Rene Walters of Poplar Bluff, MO and Phillip Walters of Poplar Bluff, MO, 1 niece: Betty Merritt and 1 nephew: Bill Rimmer, both of Knoxville, TN, sister-in-law: Josephine Walters of New Castle, special friends: Jim Hall, Paul Kendall, Jim Osborn, and Dave Hendricks.He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother: Virgil Walters and 2 sisters: Mildred Rimmer and Eva Walters.Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning at 10:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev.
