Velma Laverne Whitmore

Velma Laverne Whitmore, 93, of Anderson passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023. She was born March 28, 1930 in Hartford, Ohio to the late Ivan and Grace (Cozad) Clark.
Velma spent 60 years or more being a part of this community, she was very proud to work alongside her husband designing the interiors of the homes he built. Velma was known as a giver to the local animal community as she fed every stray that came to her door. It didn’t matter what it was she still showed it love. Her cooking was 2nd to none, and she enjoyed making all sorts of food. Velma loved to clean; she was known for even cleaning her vacuum after she had vacuumed. She loved to have things tidy.
Velma is survived by one son, Bill (Belinda) Whitmore; grandchildren, Johna (Michael) Lee and Allen Whitmore; great grandchildren, Katelyn (Melissa) Lee and Gavin Whitmore.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Whitmore and sister, Ila Grace Whitmore.
At Velma’s request there will be no services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ballard and Sons Funeral Home.
