Velma ""Mell"" Turner

Daleville...Velma (Marvell) ""Mell"" Turner, 78, resident of Daleville, died November 29, 2004 at her residence after an extended illness.She was born in Anderson, April 16, 1926, the daughter of Oliver and Arvilla Lawrence Michael.She had been a homemaker most of her life and was lifelong resident of the Daleville community.She was a member of the Eagles Lodge of Anderson #174 and attended Main Street Church of God in Anderson.She was preceded in death by her first husband: Eldon Marvell, her parents, and 3 sisters and 2 brothers.Survivors include her husband: Chester Turner of Daleville, 2 daughters: Mrs. Floyd ""Skip"" (Aloma Sue) Smith of Brownsburg and Jennifer Turner of Anderson, 6 sons: Hubert (Dorothy) Marvell of Muncie, James Marvell of Anderson, Mike (Nancy) Marvell of Rockford, IL, Paul (Leann) Marvell, Robert (Shelia) Marvell and Chester Turner of Daleville, 3 sisters: Leona Dowden of Pendleton, Pearl Paschal and Leotta Mae Scott of Anderson, 1 brother: Robert (Annis) Michael of Anderson, 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Friday at 12:00 Noon at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut, Daleville, with Rev.
