Tunis Wilson Garrett, 81 of Shirley, passed away peacefully after a short illness in his home on Sunday, July 31, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Pennington Gap, Virginia to the late Dallas and Virgie (Clark) Garrett, and he later moved to Indiana.
Tunis met the love of his life, Connie H. Welker on December 19, 1963, at a school dance. They celebrated their 59th anniversary this past summer. He worked for General Motors for 29 years, retiring in 2000. Tunis loved collecting antiques, working on watches and clocks, collecting nascar memorabilia, and playing the guitar.
Tunis was welcomed to his heavenly home by his parents; two brothers, Ray Garrett and Rick Garrett; and one sister, Linda Dills.
He is survived by his wife, Connie (Welker) Garrett; two brothers, David Garrett and Joe Garrett; and one sister, Brenda Brown; as well as his children, Jaylynne (Brian) Kemerly, Troy (Lynda) Garrett, Patrick (Sarah) Garrett; his grandchildren, Casey (Laura) Kemerly, Brandy (Mike Shetler) Rifner, Lacey (Lou) Palermo, Kyle McCord, Tyler (Heather) Garrett, Landon Garrett; and several great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown with Casey Kemerly officiating.
