Treva Lucille Bowers, 94, of Middletown, IN passed away Monday, September 30, 2024 at Creasy Springs Health Care in Lafayette. She was born on August 23, 1930 in Frankfort, IN a daughter of the late Guy and Mabel (Moore) Snodgrass.
Treva grew up in Frankfort and graduated from Frankfort High School on May 27, 1948. On September 3, 1950, she married the love of her life, James G. Bowers and began their family together that started with two daughters, Pamela Annetta and Janis Kay.
In 1951, Treva graduated with honors from the Indianapolis General Hospital School of Nursing, where she was one of the top eight students to receive a gold medal for her excellence in nurses training. She went on to serve her community with dedication and compassion, retiring from St. John's Hospital in Anderson, Indiana, after many years of caring for others.
A passionate traveler, Treva visited every state in the U.S. except Alaska, and although she never made it to Canada, her spirit of adventure always guided her.
In her free time, Treva enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, collecting jewelry and teapots and was an avid Purdue basketball fan.
Treva is survived by her daughter, Janis Kay (Robert) Eavey of Lafayette; grandchildren, Heather Logan of Fort Wayne, Jason (Michele) Eavey of Lafayette, Joseph (Sophia) Eavey of Frankfort; great grandchildren, Samantha and Tyler Logan both of Fort Wayne and Aidan Eavey of Lafayette; brother, Dwight (Netta) Snodgrass of Indianapolis; son-in-law, Denny Craig of New Castle; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Treva was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Bowers; daughter, Pamela Annetta Craig; sisters, Faye Alexander, Virginia Yale and Marjorie Dismuke; brothers, David, Byron and Howard Snodgrass.
Services will be at 11:00am Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown with Pastor Steve Arnett officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery.
