Daleville....Thomas Oatley Clevenger, 83, resident of Daleville, passed away Sunday at Community Hospital in Anderson. He was born in Randolph County, November 30, 1933, the son of Edwin and Mary Wood Clevenger.He had lived in Winchester before moving to DalevilleHe had been a welder at Westinghouse, worked as custodian at Daleville Schools and at worked at True Value Hardware in Anderson. He attended the Daleville United Methodist Church and was a US Air Force Veteran. He loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, painting, reading, writing letters and walking at Shadyside Park.He was preceded in death his wife, Linda (Wean) , son: Mark Clevenger. sister: Betty Laughman and granddaughter: Candice Miller.He is survived by his children: Clifford Owen Clevenger (Brenda) of Sheridan, WY and Yolanda (Dan) Miller of Alberton, MT., longtime companion: Lilly Overby of Anderson and her children: Debbie Witcher, Brian and Mike Overby all of Anderson, 5 grandchildren, Nephew: Ed (Jean) Laughman of Winchester and a nieces: Jane (Ron) Dickey of Union City..A Celebration of his life will be held at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut Street, Daleville on Saturday at 2:00 PM with Pastor Glenn Perkins officiating.
