Thelma Bertram

Muncie...Thelma (New) Bertram, 89, longtime Henry County resident, passed away Friday, March 19, 2010 at Golden Living Center of Muncie.She was born in Monticello, KY, December 13, 1920, the daughter of George and Frona Dick New. She moved to New Castle and met the love of her life Don. They moved to Middletown where they raised a family and were married for 60 years.She attended Frist brethren Church of Oakville. She had worked as a housekeeper for many area families and loved to bowl with her senior citizen friends. She played cards in several card clubs and her favorite pastime was cooking. You never left her house hungry.She left to cherish her memory: one daughter: Donna Stephens (Phil) of Muncie and 1 son: Danny ""Vic"" (Suzy) Bertram of Daleville, 6 grandchildren: Craig Stephens, Tanya Hensley, Dawn Self, Derek ""Deke"" Bertram, Alicia Angell and Jeremy Pierce, 10 great grandchildren: 1 brother: Hubert New, 3 sisters: Rilda Daffron, Norma Morrow, and Eloise Warner, several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband Don ""Gander"", a daughter: Bonnie Pierce, 1 son: Dale ""Tex"" Bertram, daughter in law: Pat Bertram, 4 brothers: Floyd New, Hobart New, Ardell New, and Gaylon New, 3 sisters: Ethel Parmley, Eva Jane New and Lorie New.Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev.
