Steven Kim Shipley, age 67, of Chesterfield, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, August 26, 2024. Born on December 24, 1956, in Anderson, Indiana, Steven was a son of the late Charles and Donna (McMillen) Shipley.
A 1975 graduate of Highland High School, Steven was known for his unwavering faith and dedication to his community. He served as a deacon at the Chesterfield Christian Church. Steven was deeply committed to his family, cherishing the close bonds he shared with his nieces and nephews, who were very dear to his heart.
Steven’s generosity and selflessness were evident in his volunteer work at the Chesterfield Union Township Food Pantry, where he took great pride in maintaining the facility and connecting with the people he served as well as the other volunteers. His early years were spent helping at Leo’s Interstate Marathon in Daleville, reflecting his lifelong commitment to hard work and service to others.
Steven is survived by his loving sisters, Terry (Rick) McNally of Anderson and Diane Shipley of Chesterfield; his nieces, Jennifer (Dave) Scarberry of South Carolina, Monica (Josh) Noll of Anderson, and Hayley (Adam) McDaniel of Texas; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Steven was preceded in death by his son, Kristopher Shipley; his brother, Jason Shipley; and two nephews, Ricky McNally and Sabastian Shipley.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30am Friday, August 30, 2024 at Bronnenberg Cemetery in Chesterfield with Pastor Ned Clark officiating.
