Daleville...Stephen Michael Shipley,66, resident of Daleville, passed away Saturday afternoon at his residence.He was born in Anderson, October 24, 1945, the son of Vernon and Maxine D. Michaels Shipley.He retired from Delco Remy, General Motors after 39 1/2 years of service.He was a 1965 graduate of Anderson High School and was a US Army and National Guard veteran.He was a member of the UAW 662, Chesterfield Community Church of God, American Legion 95 of Jonesboro, Daleville Masonic Lodge, former Chapter Dad of DeMolay, AMVETS 26 of Pendleton, and VFW 266 of Anderson, Eagles 4323 of Lapel and York Rite of Middletown.Survivors include his wife of 42 1/2 years: Dorris (Hall) of Daleville, 2 sons: David Lennis of Daleville and Darren Shipley (Stacy) of Muncie, 2 daughters: Kelly Bevelhimer (Bobby) of Fairmount and Debbie Turner of Anderson, 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, sister and brother-in-laws, and 2 brothers: Jim Davis (Wilma) of Lima, Ohio and Robert Davis (Barbara)of Anderson.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut Street, Daleville, with Rev. Wayne Sellers officiating.Cremation will follow.Friends may call on Tuesday at the funeral home from 4-8 PM with Masonic services held at 8:00 PM.Memorials may be made to the funeral home for the creation of a fund for Pancreatic Cancer research in his honor.Online Guestbook at:
