Daleville...Stephen L. Mullen, 69, resident of Daleville, passed way on January 19, 2021 at Community North heart and Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis after an extended illness.
He was born November 4, 1951 in Anderson, the son of Jerry and Billie Jo Camden Mullen.
He was an Anderson Highland graduate. he never met a stranger and was always quick with a smile and wave and a firm hand shake.
He attended the Indiana Police Academy earning certificates in arson and sex crime investigation. He had been an officer with the Chesterfield Police Department for 38 years with the rank of Major.
Before his illness, he enjoyed fishing trips to Canada, visiting Gatlinburg, TN, woodworking and working security for local business' and Colts games.
He is survived by his wife Krista (Fadely) Mullen of Daleville, daughters Raegan of Daleville and Cortney Stuart (Susan) of Middletown sister Janell Singer (Jeff) of Chesterfield, several nieces and nephews, special friends Patty Mullen and Mike Harvey of Chesterfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Greg Mullen.
Friends may call at the Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut Street, Daleville on Monday from 4-8 PM.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 pm with Pastor Ned Clark officiating.
Covid-19 restrictions require limiting 50 attendees within the funeral home at any one time as well as facemasks, social distancing and hand sanitation.
