Middletown....Samuel Shelton, 90, resident of Middletown, passed away Thursday evening at St. Vincent Regional Hospital in Anderson.He was born in War Creek, Kentucky, July 12, 1924, the son of Robert and Nannie Johnson Shelton.He had worked for 32 years at Anaconda Wire in Anderson and retired from Fisher Body in Marion.He had lived in Middletown since 1960 and was a member of the Mounds Baptist Church and the NRA.He loved collecting and trading guns.He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers: Pearl, Charlie, Nick and Stanley and 1 sister: Elsie Noble.He is survived by his wife of 70 years: Pernia (Moore) of Middletown, 4 children: Redith Hines (Stephen) of Jasonville, Danny Shelton (Sharon) of Anderson, Norma Ross (Jerry) of Middletown and Richard (Diana) Shelton of Anderson, 2 sisters: Susie Lucas and Nellie Cundiff, 13 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.A Celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday at 3:00 pm at Ballard and Sons, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev. Cliff Richardson officiating.Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery.Friends may call on Tuesday from noon until the time of the services.Memorials may be made to the Mounds Baptist Church.Online Guestbook at:
