Samuel Alan MitchellSamuel Alan Mitchell, 64, of Grand Prairie, TX passed away November 1, 2016 at Medical Center of Arlington after a brief illness. He was born February 21, 1952 in Anderson, IN to Samuel Franklin and Robbie Dell (Watkins) Mitchell. He was employed in production for General Motors for 31 years before retiring in 2008. He served in the U.S. Army from 1972-1974. He was a member of the American Legion Post 624 of Mansfield, TX.Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Joanna. Five children, Tammy Whisnant (Ron Duoss), Josh Mitchell (wife Janet), Chris Walker (wife Katie), Stacey Orebaugh (John Harris), and B.J. Mitchell (Trudy). Twelve grandkids, Blaise, Adriane, Tyler, Kamron, Kalyn, Tate, Austin, Zane, Gabby, Grace, Haley and Zak. One sister Terri Lynn Hopkins (Mark). Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Cindy Mitchell Hoover.Sam enjoyed watching nascar, football and golf.
