Samuel S. Hodson

Middletown.....Samuel S. Hodson, 96, lifetime resident of Middletown, died Friday afternoon at the Middletown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness. He was born July 15, 1906 in Madison County, the son of Samuel and Jenny Boushong Hodson. He had been a farmer all of his life.He was preceded in death by his wife Alice in 1986, 2 brothers: Fred and Lester Hodson and 1 sister: Esta Morrison.He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Elks Lodge of New Castle.Survivors are 1 sister: Hazel Scothorn of Anderson and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are Monday afternoon at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev. Marty Ballard officiating. A Dove Release Service will be held at Miller Cemetery immediately following the service. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.memorials may be made to the Middletown EMS or the Middletown Fire Department.
