Middletown...Russell Earl Deck, 94, resident of Edgewater Woods in Anderson, passed away January 27, 2021. He was born in Knightstown, October 13, 1926 Ethel Martha Wooten Deck and Ralph Edward Deck.
He had worked in Skilled trades for General Motors and retired after 56 years. He was a veteran of WW 2 serving in the Seabees of the US Navy.
He was a member of the UAW Local 662 and farmed most of his life. At one point he built grain elevators.. He was a member of the NRA and loved hunting deer and adored his grandchildren.
Survivors are three sons: Rusty Deck of Middletown, Mark Deck of Colorado Springs, and Dusty Deck of Middletown, 6 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jo Ann Jenkins Deck in 2005.
Funeral services will be Friday February 5, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery, Middletown.
Friends may call from noon until the time of the services on Friday with Covid restrictions in place.
