Ruby Lucille Maddox

Daleville.....Ruby Lucille Maddox, 87, a lifetime resident of Daleville passed away on Wednesday April 3 at the Beech Grove Meadows Nursing Center in Beech Grove, Indiana.She was born in Daleville on April 13, 1925 and was the daughter of Martin D. Davis and Mary Elizabeth Betterton.She was the proprietor/or worked at the Davis Fruit Farm since 1941. She was also a graduate of Daleville High School, class of 1943.She was a member of the Daleville Women's Club and the Daleville Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband W.E. ""Jiggs"" Maddox and a son Marty. Survivors include five children; Mary Beth Shelton of Anderson, Janie Rizzi (Tom) of Indianapolis, Jay Maddox (Debby) of Daleville Peggy Hook (Dave Fernandez) of Indianapolis and Charles ""Pat"" Maddox (Kellie) of Daleville, one brother Dr. Edward Davis (Peggy) of Clearwater, FL. Also surviving are 19 Grandchildren and 15 Great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews and a Special Sister-in-Law: Betty Lorance of Muncie. Services will be at 11:00 Tuesday at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut Street, Daleville, with Rev, Gary McManus officiating. Burial will follow in Bronnenburg Cemetery in Chesterfield.Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 PM.Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.
