Roberta L. Ritchie

Parker City...Roberta L. Ritchie, 97, former resident of Middletown, passed away at Parker City Healthcare in Parker City June 22, 2007.She was born in Gaston, IN, May 12, 1910, the daughter of Lawrence and Emetta Rector Thornburg.She had lived at Raintree Square in New Castle and was a graduate of Glendale High School, Glendale, CA and Muncie Business College. She worked for Bracken, Gray and Defur law office for ten years and also was a farm wife.She was a member of the Springport Christian Church and taught Sunday School for over 50 years.She was also a member of the Women's Federated Club and the Christian Women's Fellowship.She was preceded in death by her husband: Herman in 1982, grandson: Jeffrey Bowers in 1976 and 2 brothers and 2 sisters.Survivors include her daughter: Lorna Pool (John) of Losantville and a grandson: Gregory Bowers (Debbie) of LaGrange, KY, stepson: Jay Pool (Angie) of Losantville, stepdaughter: Debbie Miller (Tony), 2 great grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown, IN with Rev.
