Middletown...Sgt. Robert James (Jamie) Redick, 35, resident of Clayton, NY, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning.He was born in Findlay, Ohio, the son of Gary E. and Deborah ""Deb"" Sackmann Redick.He was a 1996 graduate of Shenandoah High School. He graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University and attended Anderson University where he played varsity soccer for 2 years.He coached Little League Baseball and soccer and was head soccer coach at Norwell High School.He was active duty in the US Army and served in Afghanistan as a IED specialist/weapons specialist. He taught IED removal and was loved by his soldiers as a ""Father"" figure.He is survived by his wife: Laura Ann Lane of Clayton, NY, 3 children: Keaton, Abigail, and Ella of Bluffton and a step son: Kade Myer of New York, mother and father: Gary and Deb Redick of Middletown, mother and father-in-law: Sherry and Ron Lane of Middletown, brothers: Tom (Amanda) of West Lafayette, Brad (Windsor) of Ft. Lewis, WA, Marc (Nickie) of Greenfield, and Greg (Deanna) of Middletown, his grandmere: Suzanne Sackmann, several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his grandpere: William Sackmann and his Grandma and Grandpa Redick.Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 am at the Middletown Church of the Nazarene, 698 North Fifth Street in Middletown, with Rev. Jim Harless and Matt Manning officiating.Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery with full military honors.Friends may call at the Middletown Church of the Nazarene on Thursday from 3-8 PM.Memorials may be made to the Jamie Redick Family Scholarship fund through any Key Bank.
