Robert Allen Noel

Anderson....Robert Allen Noel, 64, resident of Anderson, passed away May 12, 2014 at his residence.He was born in Grinnell, Iowa, March 13, 1950 the son of Wilbur and Eva Mitchell Noel, and graduated from Grinnell High School in 1968. He also was a graduate of Valporaiso Technical School.He retired from Delco Remy (Delphi) in 2004 where he was a test engineer and had been a broker for Star Realty for several years.He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Iowa.He was involved in racing stock cars and drag racing since 1973.He and his brother Bill, who was also his devoted friend, raced together and he enjoyed Soap Box Derby Racing with his son and daughter.He never knew a stranger and was a very patient, easy-going, happy-go-lucky man as there ever was. He will be missed by his family and many friends.He was preceded in death by his parents.Survivors are his wife of 35 years: Jane A. (Blessinger) of Anderson, children: Kelly Haviland (Todd) of Fishers and Robert Ross Noel (Paige) of Anderson, grandchildren: Kirsten and Kaden Haviland and Jack Swenk, as well as one on the way: Tanner Scott Noel., brother: Bill Noel (Kathy) of Anderson, sister-in-laws: Janelle Stohler of Anderson, Cindy Bennett (Larry) of Shirley and June Blessinger of New Castle, as well as some very special nieces and nephews.He fought his battle for two years and never complained.Special thanks to Community North Cancer Center (Dr. Bhatia) and staff and Community Home Health Hospice.A Celebration of his life will be held on Friday at 10:00 am at Ballard & Sons, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Pastor Rick Schoeff officiating.Burial will follow at Mechanicsburg Cemetery.Friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 at the funeral home with Masonic services at 8:00 PM.Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the ALS Foundation.Online Guestbook at: www.ballardandsons.com and Facebook/Ballard & Sons, Life Celebrations, Counseling, Funerals, Cremation.The Ballard family is honored to celebrate the life of Robert Allen Noel with family and friends.
