Robert E. Myers

January 14, 1925 — March 20, 2018

Middletown...Robert E. Myers, 93, resident of Pendleton but longtime resident of Middletown, passed away march 20, 2018 at Fall Creek Retirement Village.  He was born in Delaware County, January 14, 1925 the son of Otto and Charity (Rinker) Myers.  He attended first grade in a one room school house at Moonsville, Indiana with Lowell Walters as the teacher, who was later a farmer south of Middletown before moving to Wisconsin.

Bob attended Sulphur Springs, Daleville, Yorktown and Losantville Schools before graduating from Economy High School in Wayne County.

He served with the 88th infantry Division in Italy (US Army) during WW 2.

After working in a Chevrolet Plant in Anderson, he retired as a tool maker from Chrysler Corp. in New Castle, Indiana after 43 years in 1989.



He resided in Middletown since his marriage May 15, 1948 to Mary jane Jones for 63 years until her death in 2011.  they were preceded in death by their daughter: Julie Ann Watson in 2005.

He is survived by his granddaughter: Saige (Watson) Woods and two great grandchildren: Jacklynn Ray and Kane Woods along with many nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Parnell, Russel, Cletus, Fredrick, James and sisters: Blanche Barnard, Valeta Gray, Adda Murrell, Delores Bunner and Mary Lou Lacy.

He was a life member of the Elk's #209 of Anderson and attended Sixth Street Christian Church.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown.  Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery, Middletown.

Friends may call from 10 am until the time of the services on Saturday.
