Robert Ray Melton

Middletown....Robert Ray Melton, 85 resident of rural Middletown passed away August 23, 2021 at St. Vincent's Ascension Hospital in Anderson. He was born in Burkesville, Kentucky the son of Charlie Bradford and Delsie Alyne Garrett Melton.
He attended Daleville Schools and retired after 41 years from New Venture Gear in 2001. He also farmed for many years.
He was a Daleville Lions Club Member and a member of the UAW 499. He loved to bowl.
In his younger days he works at Day's Gas Station in Daleville and the Hoppes Grain Elevator.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Sue (Chapman) of Middletown, Children: Tammy Doto (John Modglin) of Middletown, Lisa Ann Schmitt (Rob George) of Daleville, Steven Robert Melton of Middletown and Mark Ray Melton of Middletown, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, 1 sister: Frances Pearl Jervis (Dick) of Chesterfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Bill E. Melton and a grand daughter Breanne Frye.
Funeral services will be held on Friday September 3, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut Street, Daleville with Pastor Marty Ballard officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery, Middletown.
Friends may call from 11:00 am until the time of the services on Friday at the funeral home.
