Middletown....Robert Leroy Hiday, 76, resident of Middletown, died unexpectedly Friday at Community Hospital in Anderson after a brief illness.He was born in Anderson, September 21, 1926, the son of Roy S. and Nola C. Morris Hiday.He had worked at Muncie Paving and was a mechanic for Atlas Ready Mix for many years. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving in WW 2.Survivors include his wife of 55 years: Lois F. Layton Hiday of Middletown, 3 sons: Robert (Ludy) Hiday of San Diego, CA, Mark Hiday of Chesterfield, and James (Nell) Hiday of Middletown, 2 daughters: Vicki (Kenneth) Jones of Dryden, VA and Connie L. Hiday of Anderson, 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, 2 brothers: Arthur (Barbara) Hiday of Chesterfield and Donald (Linda) Hiday of Gas City, 1 sister: Lenna May Lawson of Kemah, TX, several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev.
