Robert ""Bob"" Cassity

New Castle...Robert ""Bob"" Cassity, 83, resident of New Castle, passed away March 6, 2017 at Henry County Hospital in New Castle.He was born in Farmers, Kentucky, May 4, 1933, the son of Walter and Mildred Armstrong Cassity.He was a member of the American Legion and VFW and lived in the Henry County area most of his life.Bob was a US Army Veteran serving in Korea.He was a 1952 graduate ofCadiz High School.He retired from Ferodo Industries after 42 years of service and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan since 1944.Bob loved to fish. all of his life.He had lived most of his life in the Henry County area.Survivors are two daughters: Robbin Neal (Dan) of New Castle and Lana Miles (Doug) of Ft. Myers, FL, 3 grandchildren: Ryan Miles (Crystal), Blake Neal (Becky) and Brett Miles (Ali), 3 great grandchildren: Nolan Miles, Holden Miles and Sophia Miles, 1 nephew and 1 niece, sister-in-law: Beverly Cassity of New Castle.He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother: William. as well as his step father: Francis Shores.A Service of Celebration will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown.Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens.Friends may call on Saturday from noon until the time of the service.Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association/JDRS, c/o Ryan Miles, 12510 Hidden Springs Cove, Fishers, Indiana 46037Online Guestbook at: www.ballardandsons.comThe Ballard family is honored to celebrate the life of Bob with family and friends.
