Anderson - Robert Frederick Biggs, Sr., 61, Anderson, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 27, 2009 following an extended illness.Robert was born December 3, 1947 in Kokomo, Ind., and lived in Anderson most of his life. He graduated from Kokomo High School in 1967 and in 1980 from Anderson University with an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the Army as Spec E-4 from 1968-1971. Following his return from Vietnam he worked at T-Way Department Store in Anderson. He began his 27 year career with the Anderson Police Department on November 1, 1973 where he served in many areas throughout the department beginning as a Patrolman and working his way to the rank of Detective. From 1980 to 1983 he was assigned to the Department's Juvenile Division and in 1983 he served on a burglary task force. He then served in the position of Property Officer until his retirement on September 22, 2000. He attended Blue River Valley Nazarene Worship Center a ministry of Middletown Church of the Nazarene.He is survived by one son, Robert F. (Christine) Biggs, Jr., of Pendleton, two daughters, Julie (Greg) Alexander of Anderson and Lora (Clarence) Prince of Anderson, step-mother, Lorene Biggs of Florida, and three brothers, Doug Biggs, Doyle Biggs, and Eugene Williams, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara L. Biggs, mother, Mary K. Biggs, father, Robert L. Biggs, brother, Donald Biggs and a very special uncle, Fred Biggs.Funeral services will be held at Middletown Church of the Nazarene, 698 North 5th Street, Middletown, Indiana on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Greg Alexander, Rev. Phil Rogers and Rev. David Whitteberry officiating.
