Middletown....Richard Clarence Wools,Jr., 78, resident of Middletown, passed away at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis Thursday morning.He was born in Brazil, Indiana, July 27, 1933, the son of Richard C. Wools Sr. and Clarabelle Ballenger Wools.He retired from Guide Lamp of General Motors in 1993 after 30 years of service.He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a 50 year member of the Sulphur Springs Masonic Lodge.He had been an EMT for many years with the Middletown EMS and was involved with a carving club in New Castle.He was a member of the Upper Fall Creek Church of the Brethren and worked for several years at Best Ever Dairy in Anderson.Survivors include his wife of 56 years: Sarellen (Stum) of Middletown, 2 daughters: Lisa (Hugh) McVicker of Indianapolis and Lorri (Ryan) Jacobs of Anderson, 3 grandchildren: Brittney McVicker of Indianapolis and Abigail and Zachary Jacobs of Anderson, 5 sisters: Beverly Newcomb (Dan) of Claremore, OK, Thelma Moreland of Rockledge, FL, Dian Paaske of Springfield, OH, Betty Vass of Anderson, IN and Delores Wools of Indianapolis, several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev.
