Chesterfield....Richard ""Dick"" Stevenson,65. resident of the Chesterfield/Daleville area, passed away Wednesday at St. Vincent's Regional Hospital in Anderson.He was born in Muncie, February 6, 1950, the son of Cleatus and Vivian Woods Stevenson. He retired from Frito-Lay.He was a 1968 graduate of Daleville High School and was a superior athlete holding the track school records set in 1967 and 1968 in the 800 Meter run and the 1600 Meter Relay.He was a varsity letter winner for 4 years at DHS and was inducted in the Delaware County Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012. He was a leading scorer in the Delaware County Old Timers Basketball league and was a basketball referee for over five years.He loved to play golf.He was extremely competitive and loved his nieces and nephews.Survivors are his brothers: Jim Stevenson (Kay) of Yorktown, Larry Stevenson (Linda) of Anderson and Jack Stevenson (Phyllis) of Daleville, nieces and nephews: Brett Stevenson (Stephanie), Jamie Jones (Dave), Stacie Buxton (Eric), Tina Stevenson, Tracey Pierce (Danny), Andy Stevenson and Jennifer Crosley (Jim), several great nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Nieces: Sherrie Stevenson and Karen Reitenour.A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM at Ballard & Sons, 8212 South Walnut, Daleville with Rev.
