Richard "Pete" Howard, 85, of Indianapolis passed away Tuesday January 4, 2022 at Greenwood Health and Living. He was born February 27, 1936 in Anderson, Indiana to the late Rufus Earl and Eulalia (Lakey) Howard.
Pete was a 1954 graduate of Daleville High School he attended Ball State University where he obtained his Bachelors Degree in Industrial Technology. Pete was a Purchasing Agent for ABB Westinghouse and retired at 31 years of service. He served his country in the United States Navy Construction Battalion and then in the Naval Reserve.
He was a past member of the Moose Lodge in Muncie and President of Veterans Club at Crestwood Village.
Pete is survived by his children, Angela (Steve) Lovern of Indianapolis, R. Chris Howard of Brownsburg and Jonathon (Patty) Howard of Anchorage, Alaska; grandchildren, Austin Howard, Alex (Bethany) Lovern, Laura Lovern, MaKenzie (Mike) Grisham, Drew (Lindsey) Lovern, Madison Howard, Nathan Howard and Emma Howard; great grandchildren, Colby Lovern, Wesley Lovern Daniel Lovern and Autumn Lovern; brother Earl (Carolyn) Howard of Mechanicsburg.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Cecelia Howard; brothers, Robert "Bob" Howard, Donald Howard and William "Bill" Howard.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday January 15, 2022 at 11:30 am at Tomlinson Cemetery 5301 South Old State Rd 67 Muncie, IN 47302. In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial contributions be given to the Wounded Warrier Project PO Box 758516 Topeka, Kansas 66675.
A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
