Richard (Dick) Joe Allen

October 18, 1933 — April 18, 2018

Richard (Dick) Allen, 84, of Middletown, Passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on October 18, 1933, The son of Eugene and Geneva (Campbell) Allen.  He Graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1952 and attended Butler University for 2 years.  He married Kay Osborne in 1953, and they would have been celebrating 65 years of marriage in May.

He worked in Car Dealerships his entire life. Beginning at the age of 20 he worked for his dad at "Red Allen Chevrolet" in Sulphur Springs.  He started his career off in the parts department then became a salesman until he opened his own business in Middletown "Dick Allen Chevrolet" from 1968 to 1979.  After he sold the business, he worked for several dealerships until the age of 81.

He was a member of the Masonic lodge in Sulphur Springs.

He is survived by his wife Kay of 64 years, 4 Children: Greg (Cathy) Allen of Bloomington, Illinois, Chris Allen of Middletown, Kim (David) Keesling of Middletown, and Scott (Terri) Allen of Boston, Massachusetts.

He has nine Grandchildren, Chad (Heather) Allen, Christy (Justin) Shively, Tanya Nunez, Kaycie (Byron) Patrick, Kara (Dameon) Wyatt, Nicklaus Allen, Joey Allen, Emily (Josh) Foshee and Justin Allen.

He was also loved by his twelve Great Grand children, Gavin, Lauren, Kyndal, Adrian, Gabrielle, Brody, Kayden, Kaitlin, Myles, JJ, Maddox, and Maxton.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Richard Allen will be held on Monday April 23, 2018 at Sulphur Springs Christian Church at 7:00 PM.  Friends and Family may call from 4-7 P.M. at the church.
