Richard ""Dick"" Clapp, 80, resident of Middletown, passed away June 4, 2017. He was born in Henry County, January 30, 1937, the son of Henly Clapp and Helen Pierce. He was a 1955 graduate of Middletown High School. He served in the National Guard for a term of 3 years and retired after 36 years as a tool maker for General Motors in Anderson.He enjoyed spending his time fishing, golfing, watching Nascar and IU Basketball. He was preceded in death by his parents and half brothers and sisters.Dick is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; his two children, Debbie (Steve) Bell and Amy Murray; his three grandchildren that he cherished; Brandon Sexton, Sydney Murray and Spencer Murray; his brother, Jerry (Carol) Clapp; sister-in-laws and brother-in-law, Nancy Clapp from Tennessee; Connie (Randy) Van Zant; Peggy Minnick; Tammy Hall and several nieces and nephews.
