Middletown...Ray Junior Peckinpaugh, 83, longtime resident of Middletown, passed away early Tuesday morning at his residence.He was born in Blairsburg, Iowa, September 20, 1927, the son of Ray and Mabel Dingman Peckinpaugh.He attended Lincoln High School in Iowa and was a Military Policeman in the US Army serving in Germany.He retired from Container Corporation in 1995.He was a charter member of the American Legion of Middletown and a life member of the VFW of Anderson.Survivors include his wife of 63 years: Verna Deloris (Wilson) of Middletown, 2 sons: Steven ""Bill"" Peckinpaugh (Sheila) of New Castle, and Jonathan Leroy peckinpaugh of Fortville, 2 daughters: Claudia Rae Lyall (Edward) of Middletown and Rosemary Burton (Brian) of Texas, 5 grandchildren: Dorronda D. Woods, Stephanie E. Peckinpaugh, Heather Peckinpaugh, Shelia Jo Gauldin and Joyce Catherine Potter, 2 great grandchildren: Edward Lyall Gauldin and Ronald JoeRay Gauldin.he was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter: Christina Ann, brother: Gerald ""Bing"", 1 sister: Marriam Hathway, 1/2 brothers: Fred and Sam Peckinpaugh and grandchild: Bettina Shaw.Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Dr. James Harless of Tri County Christian Church officiating.Friends may call from noon until the time of the service.Memorials to: American Kidney Association.Online Guestbook at: www.ballardandsons.com
