MUNCIE....LEE JAMES RAY l, AGE 69, A LIFE LONG RESIDENT OF THE MUNCIE AND SPRINGPORT AREA, PASSED AWAY JANUARY 9,2017 AT THE LIBERTY VILLAGE NURSING CENTER FOLLOWING A BRIEF ILLNESS.HE WAS BORN IN MUNCIE ON FEBRUARY 20, 1947 AND WAS THE SON OF PAUL E AND DORIS (MILLER) RAY.HE WAS EMPLOYED BY THE BLUE RIVER SCHOOL CORPORATION AS A CUSTODIAN AND A BUS DRIVER. HE RETIRED AFTER 21 YREARS OF SERVICE. HE ENJOYED MAKING WIND CHIMES; AND GAVE SEVERAL AWAY TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS. HE ALSO FARMED FOR LEE AND MELVIN BUNNER.SURVIVORS INCLUDE 2 SONS....CHRISTOPHER "CHRIS" RAY AND FIANCE' AUTUMN STEWART AND LEE JAMES RAY II FIANCE' JOHNETTA ULLMAN ALL OF MUNCIE. ONE BROTHER; STEVE RAY WIFE WANDA OF MT. SUMMIT. SEVERAL GRAND CHILDREN; AND GREAT GRAND CHILDREN ALONG WITH SEVERAL NEICES AND NEPHEWS.FAMILY VISITATION WILL BE FROM 10-11 MONDAY JANUARY 16 WITH FUNERAL SERVICES AT 11 AM AT BALLARD AND SONS FUNERAL HOME IN MIDDLETOWN WITH BISHOP IRY HOGAN A FRIEND OF THE FAMILY WILL BE OFFICIATING, BURIAL WILL FOLLOW AT SPRINGPORT CEMETERYIN LIUE OF FLOWERS MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS WILL BE MADE TO BALLARD AND SONS FUNERAL HOME TO ASSIST WITH FUNERAL EXPENSES.THE BALLARD FAMILY IS HONORED TO CELEBRATE THE LIFE OF MR. RAY WITH FAMILY.
