Phyrel Lee Baker

Phyrel Lee (Casey) Baker, 75, longtime resident of the Middletown area, died Sunday evening at Henry County Memorial Hospital in New Castle, after an extended illness. She was born on March 17, 1927 the daughter of Gilbert M. and Mary E. McClarnon Casey. She had been preceded in death by her husband Danny Baker in 1994. She had been a homemaker as well as Clerk for the Harrison Township Trustees office. She also served as Harrison Township Trustee, fullfiling her husband's term upon his passing.She had attended Center Chapel United Methodist Church near Shirley. She is survived by one son: Robert of Middletown, 2 nieces: Rebecca Zirkle of New Castle and Jennifer Bailey of Greenfield as well as 3 sisters-in-law. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by 1 brother: Dale Glenister Casey in 2002.Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown, with Rev. Marty Ballard officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery.Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
