Phyllis Ruby Westrater

Middletown...Phyllis Ruby Westrater, 84, resident of Middletown, passed away December 6, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her family after a brief battle with cancer.She was born in Indiana, November 6, 1931 and attended Anderson High School.She was a stay at home mom who raised four kids and helped raise some of her grandkids. She loved her family dearly and had a passion for flowers, car rides and Christmas lights.She was preceded in death by her husband Bob of 56 years, son Rick and daughter Sheila.She is survived by her son: Bobby (Rita) Westrater, Jr., daughter: Becky (Glen) Spell and daughter in law: Tammy Westrater.Also her grandchildren: Melinda Westrater (Mike Thompson), Christina Pierce (Steven Hodson), Leslie (Justin) Miller, Darren (Molly) Spell, Abigail Loften, Dustin Loften, Trevor Westrater, Charlotte (Brian) Davidson, Ernie Spell, Joe (Jen) Thompson, Jason Thompson and Josh Thompson.Her great grandchildren: Raven Thompson, Cyrstin Thomson, Andrea Davidson, Elora Spell, Samantha Spell, Emitt Spell, Avrianna Loften, Daxton Miller, McKenzie Thompson, Evan Thompson, and Owen Thompson with nieces and nephews as well as a special niece: Vicki (Joe) Brooks.A Celebration of her life will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Marty Ballard officiating.Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery.Friends may call on Sunday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.Online Guestbook at: www.ballardandsons.comThe Ballard family is honored to celebrate the life of Phyllis with family and friends.
