Markleville....Phillip W. ""Bud"" Forney, 83, resident of Markleville, passed away Monday at Community Hospital in Anderson.He was born in Mechanicsburg, May 22, 1934, the son of James E and Lilith Cox Forney. He attended Middletown High School and was self employed in farming for many years.He was a member of the Middletown, Mechanicsburg and Markleville Masonic Lodge and received the ""Award of Gold"" for his memberships. He was a member of the Murat Shrine of Indianapolis and the Madison County Shrine Club.He loved tractor shows and antique car shows. He was an FFA booster for Pendleton Heights and was a pioneer in cutting edge soil and conservation farming.He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: James L., Wilburn E, and Kenneth E Forney, sisters: Betty Young, Bonnie Smith, Virginia Ann Douglas and Freda Mixon.Survivors are his children: Dean Forney (Darla) of Markleville, Darrell Forney of Okemas, MI and Tina Byer (Chris) of Markleville, the mother of his children: Carolyn Sue Harless of Markleville, 2 sisters: Lula Mae Godbey of Pendleton and Carolyn Offer (Dick) of Georgia, grandchildren: Adam Forney, Eric Forney, Nathan Byer, Destiny Henderson and Ian Forney, great grandchildren: Kenna Henderson and Liam Henderson.A Celebration of his life with Masonic services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown.
