Paul "Phil" Philip Stephens

Paul “Phil” Stephens, 81 of Muncie passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023. He was born on May 1, 1941 a son of the late Paul J. and E. Marie (Luellen) Stephens.

He was a 1959 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. Phil attended Ball State University and was a member of the First Brethren Church of Oakville where he served as a Deacon. He was a barber for 20 years at Cantrells and retired from Maxon in 2008 after 20 years of service. Phil was a member of the Masonic Lodge and served for 10 years on the Cowan Fire Department. He was a certified scuba diver and enjoyed Photography. Phil spent time growing up at the lake and fishing. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family.

Phil is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Donna; children, Craig (Michele) Stephens, Tanya (Leon Bow) Hensley; grandchildren, Mackenzie (Aaron) Lawson, Sydney Stephens, Natalie Hensley, Samantha Hensley and Sabrina (Cody) Mahoney; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Danny “Vic” (Suzy) Bertram.

In addition to his parents, Phil is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Dale (Pat) Bertram; sister-in-law, Bonnie Pierce; parents-in-law, Don and Thelma Bertram.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown with Pastor John Garrett officiating. Burial to follow at Miller Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Memorial Contributions may be made to the First Brethren Church of Oakville at 320 West Oakville Road, Oakville, Indiana 47367 or a charity of choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
