Middletown...Paul Walter Myers, 91, resident of Middletown and former resident of Sulphur Springs, IN, passed away September 27, 2012 at Millers Merry Manor in Middletown after a brief illness.He was born in Muncie, January 15, 1921, the son of Charles and Bertha Bowers Myers.He worked for many years at Ingersoll Steel in New Castle and was owner and operator for Myers Furniture in Honey Creek.He was a 1939 graduate of Middletown High School and a member of the Sulphur Springs Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the OES of Sulphur Springs and had been a Jefferson Township Volunteer fireman for over 50 years.Survivors include 2 children: Carole Jeanne (Dick) Benfield of Middletown, and Jeff Myers of Middletown, grandchildren: Sabrina Hubbard (Scott) of Pendleton, Kristina Murrell (Mike) of Greenwood, Brandon Myers of Middletown and Michelle Myers (Kyle Malone) of Albequerque, NM, great grandchildren: Brittney and Nicholas Hubbard, Isaac Murrell and Maya Lucille Malone, 1 brother: Horace Hiatt (Peggy) of Clinton, AR.He was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Margaret (Osborn), one sister: Marjorie Jones and 1 brother: Albert Hiatt, several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev. Maynard Powell and Marty Ballard officiating.Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery in Middletown.Friends may call on Saturday from noon until the time of the services at the funeral home.Masonic services will begin at 2:00 pmMemorials may be made to the Jefferson Township Fire Department through the funeral home.Online guestbook at:
