Knightsville....Paul Leland Mills, 89 resident of Knightsville and longtime resident of Chesterfield, passed away at Terre Haute Regional Hospital in Terre Haute on March 22, 2016.He was born in Yorktown, May 2, 1926, the son of Jessie and Grace Stout Mills.He had worked at General Motors and attended Yorktown Schools.He was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean Conflict.He was a 50 year member of the American Legion and had a mowing business for many years.He served as a maintenance person for the Middletown Medical Clinic and also had worked at Nicholson File, Lynch Corporation, and the Chesterfield Grain Elevator.He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Walter, Charles, Calvin, Lauris and Harold, sisters: Margaret Schnook, Mary Ellen Thompson, Helen Hazelmier and Alberta Gee.He is survived by his wife: Thelma Grace Mills Knightsville and formally of Chesterfield, two daughters: Patty Lee (William) of Reelsville and Paula Mills of Indianapolis, 4 grandchildren: Corinna Earl (Tommy) of Anderson, Joshua Hopper (Abi) of Phoenix, Blake Hopper and Hanna Gilley (Kevin) of Reesville, 4 great grandchildren: Kaylee Hornung, Dylan Gilley, Ava Hopper, and A.J. Hopper. A Celebration of his life will be held at Elm Grove Christian Church, 2940 North 300 West, Anderson on Saturday March 26, 2016 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Mike Whiteman officiating.Burial will follow at Bronnenberg Cemetery in Chesterfield with military honors by the Middletown American Legion Honor Guard.Friends may call at the church on Saturday after 2:00 PM.
