Pamela Joann Barber was Born November 15, 1969, four minutes after her twin brother Mike, in Middletown, OH. Pam was a happy and loving girl, known by her family to readily hand out hugs. She grew into an exceptional athlete at New Castle Chrysler High School in New Castle, IN, where she played basketball, volleyball, softball, and ran track. She earned All North Central Conference honors in both basketball and volleyball, and pictures for these accomplishments adorn the walls of the famed New Castle Fieldhouse. After high school she attended Ball State University in Muncie, IN, where she walked on the women’s volleyball team. After graduating from Ball State with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, she found her way into the healthcare industry, where she enjoyed a successful career in managed care. Pam became well known and well respected in the managed care community for her keen analytical mind and skill in negotiating contracts. She also earned a Master of Business Administration with a 4.0 GPA from Anderson University in Anderson, IN as a working mother.
Pam’s biggest achievement, however, was the birth and raising of her two sons, Wesley and William. She protected them fiercely and loved them even more so. She spent countless hours playing with them on the floor when they were small, and countless more hours in the gym and on the golf course as they grew up. From the moment of their birth until the end, everything she did in life was for them, encouraging them to achieve their full potential and realize their dreams. Pam will be missed for her infectious laugh, fierce determination, and unbending loyalty, among so many more things. Her presence may no longer grace our lives, but her spirit lives on in the memories of so many who loved her dearly.
