Daleville...Orie (Otis) Hook, 83, resident of Daleville, passed away Monday at his residence.He was born August 6, 1932, the son of Lonnie and Ruth Cox Hook and was a 1951 graduate of Anderson High School.He retired in 1994 from Delco Remy of General Motors and was a veteran of the National Guard serving as a Sergeant in the 138th Medical Division.He was a member of the UAW 662 and umpired Little League for many years.He loved Baseball, horse racing and dancing.He was preceded in death by his parents, grandchildren: Angie Hook and Tammy Currie and sisters Elizabeth Ramsey, Betty Brumback, and Irene Rinker.Survivors include his wife of 50 years: Betty (Jackson) of Daleville, children: Lonny Hook of Anderson, Nancy (Mike) Tipton of Anderson and Kay Valentine of Daleville, step children: Virginia Thompson (Phil) of Bethel, Randy (Debbie) Nichols of Chesterfield, and Bruce (Kathy) Nichols of Shipshawan, 2 brothers: Carl (Betty) King of Moonsville and Ralph King (Susie) of Ft. Branch, 22 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.A very special thank you to Heartland Hospice and the caregiving of Debbie Nichols.A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut Street, Daleville with Pastor Marty Ballard of the Yorktown Church of the Nazarene officiating.Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park, Anderson.Friends may call on Friday at the funeral home from 3-8 PM.Online Guestbook at:
