Anderson...NORMAN LAWSON, 76 resident of Anderson, started his new adventure, April 29th, 2003.He was born March 2, 1927 in Anderson, the son of Charles and Mabel Lawson. He lived in Anderson most of his life.He was a proud veteran of WW 2 and Korea and had retired from Delco Remy in 1979 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the UAW Local 662.He owned and operated the Indiana Mat Company in Mechanicsburg before donating the factory to Raintree Industries in New Castle for the benefit of teaching the disabled.He was a lover of Philosophy and enjoyed reading the works of the masters. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and collecting old watches.He is survived by his wife of over 46 years: Mary Lee (New) of Anderson, 3 sons: Norman Lawson, Jr. of Anderson, Neal Goodman of Anderson, and Mike Goodman of Anderson, 2 daughters: Sylvia Jean Goodman Deeter of Anderson and Marsha Lawson of Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by 1 son: Jack Lawson in 1979.His wife, and daughter Jean, as well as his sister in law: Vada Evans attended to him in his last days. Norman was the focal point of his family and will be missed terribly.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev. Marty Ballard officiating.Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.Memorials may be made to the American Lung Associaition.Online Guestbook is available at:
