Norman Eugene Keesling, resident of Middletown Indiana, passed away at his home, on August 2nd, 2024, at the age of 91.
He was born in Wilkinson, Indiana on November 21, 1932, to Agnes (Gift) and Clarence Keesling. He graduated from Pendleton Heights High School in 1952 and married Estella (Teddy) Harry on August 17th, 1952.
He was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the Navy from 1952 until 1956. In 1957 he went to work for Delco Remy in the Process Engineering Department and moved to a small farm in Middletown to raise his family. Norm retired from Delco Remy in 1987.
Norman was a past member of the Middletown Lions Club and the Middletown American Legion. He was a member of the Northwestern School Building Corporation that built Shenandoah High School in 1967. Norm was a coach in the Middletown Little League and Middletown Babe Ruth for several years. He enjoyed bowling, playing golf and was an avid euchre player. One of his biggest passions was farming, where he especially enjoyed running the combine and bailing hay while smoking his cigar.
Norm loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and was very proud of their accomplishments. He enjoyed attending their school functions, especially their sporting events.
He was a fiercely loving caregiver to his late wife Teddy, married for 65 years, and his beloved dog Arbi, who was his best friend.
Norm and Teddy were best known for their love and passion for teaching many local children how to swim at their home swimming pool.
He is survived by his brother, Jim (Jean) Keesling; two sons, David (Kim) Keesling and Dan (Angela) Keesling; his five grandchildren, Kaycie (Byron) Patrick, Kara (Dameon) Wyatt, Terri (Mac) Boeve, Dan II (Heather) Keesling, and Letty (Andy) Nestrick; four step grandchildren, Caleb (Rachel) Jessup, Aaron (Kaleb Heckber) Jessup, Rachel (Dakota Lanning) Jessup, and Hannah (Ted Brown) Jessup; great grandchildren, Gavin (Caylie), Gabrielle, Myles, Maddox, Maxton, Stella, Ruthann, Vincent, Kamryn, Willow, Indie, Oliver, Archer, Elliot, Kinsley, Oakley and Brixley.
Norm was preceded in death by his wife Teddy.

Services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, August 9, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
