New Castle...Norman Lee Bowling,70, longtime Henry County resident, passed away Friday morning unexpectedly at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.He was born in Farmers, KY, January 9, 1940, the son of Sam Ora and Lucy Grayson Bowling.He retired in 1991 from Emge Packing where he had been a livestock buyer.He was a member of the Eagles, VFW and American Legion of New Castle.Survivors are four children: Lisa Snider (Drew) of Colchester, CT, Bruce Bowling (Amy) of Yorktown, Jeff Bowling of New Castle, and Dempsey Bowling of Sheridan, IN, 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 2 sisters: Nola Winkler (Gene) of Middletown and Ida P. Jessup (John) of Knightstown, and his faithful dog: Pain.He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 brother.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev. Dillard Cole and Mike Price officiating.Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens in New Castle.Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 PM.Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association.
