New Castle...Norma Rose Lankford-Jones, 81, resident of New Castle, passed away Saturday morning at Addison Place Assisted Living Center in New Castle.She was born in Daviess County, Indiana, July 22, 1934, the daughter of Roy and Eunice Clark Mattingly.She was a graduate of Otwell High School (1952) and retired from Delco Remy of General Motors in 1996.She loved spending time with family and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands: Leroy Lankford and Lloyd Jones, 2 sisters: Agnes and Faye, and 5 brothers: Chic, Wayne, Joe, Earl and infant brother, John.Survivors in include four children: William Lankford (Sheila) of Shirley, Dennis (Cheri) Lankford of Owensburg, Sandy Steadman (John) of Middletown and Penny Helsley (Jeff) of New Castle, 1 sister: Wilma Cottrell of Anderson and 1 brother: James ""Jim"" Mattingley (Jodie) of Illinois, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.A Celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday at 3:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with William Lankford officiating.Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery in New Castle.Friends may call on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the time of the services at the funeral home.Online Guestbook at: www.ballardandsons.comThe Ballard family is honored to celebrate the life of Norma Jones with family and friends.
